How to make a matcha latte

Matcha is my life. Honestly, there is nothing better than a cuppa matcha every morning. I realize that it is a hot trend among wellness influencers but there are real reasons to fall deeply in love with the chlorophyll-rich drink.

I spent two of the best years of my life in Japan, and I learned a thing or two! 🎌

I was first introduced to matcha over a decade ago while sitting at a sushi-go-round in a small town called Uraga. Each table had a hot water spigot + a container of ceremonial grade matcha. I watched to see what other patrons did so as not to offend anyone with my super American table manners.

Hot water + matcha at dinner became a staple + the start of a love affair.

Matcha is powdered green tea + is not a trend; it’s ancient + it boasts some stellar ingredients:

•amino acid L-theanine, which may improve brain function

•polyphenols that reduce inflammation

•green tea can reduce blood sugar, help with weight loss, + lower the risk of some cancers.

My favorite benefit? The catechins in green tea may suppress bacterial growth that causes bad breath.

True, it’s Insta worthy, but mostly it’s a ritual that grounds me + connects me to a mysterious + magical place that I called home for two years.

Buying tip:

🍵Buy ceremonial grade matcha if you can. It’s of the highest quality.

🍵Buy matcha grown in the Uji region of Japan. Uji is where the best matcha in the world comes from.

🍵I buy this matcha here. It’s the best of the best. I trust their purity standards 100%

Konpai (Cheers)!🍵
